Indigo Art Therapy Studio is nestled in the creative, historic neighborhood of Avondale in Jacksonville, Florida. Our current space includes two adaptive treatment rooms, a group room, and of plenty cozy corners and cushions for spreading out.
When we work with highly sensitive artists, the sensory room can be lit with black lights for what we call glow time, calming sensory down-time for doing art that glows in the dark. The sensory room is also used for exploring our home-made sensory bins full of non-toxic, and often edible, open-ended sensory play materials.
A Place for All
For adults and teens, our studio becomes a safe space to cultivate creative self-expression, practice mindfulness-based coping skills, or navigate life challenges. Individual sessions are personalized to address unique goals and challenges. Formal art abilities are not necessary to benefit from art therapy. Stick figures, scribbles, and other kinds of mark-making can take you where you need to go.
