One-on-one art therapy sessions are facilitated by registered art therapists and offer therapeutic goal-oriented support for individuals of all ages and abilities. Art therapy uses the creative process to address behavioral, emotional, psychological, and neuro-sensory challenges. No art skills are required to benefit from art therapy!
Art therapy sessions are personalized to meet the needs of the individual. Common therapeutic goals at Indigo may include: coping with anxiety and stress, managing strong feelings, self-expression and communication, emotional awareness and adaptive emotional regulation, sensory exploration and integration, developing self-compassion, fostering healthy relationships, or help with co-occurring mental health diagnosis.
Our approach incorporates art therapy, mindfulness and movement, sensory-based art-making & art-based play, relationship development, trauma-informed therapy, and cognitive behavior therapy strategies. We specialize in working with individuals on the autism spectrum and their families.
Additionally, we have extensive experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Asperger's syndrome, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, anxiety-spectrum disorders (including obsessive compulsive disorder), PTSD, attachment disorders, and depression. Many of our clients are considered "highly sensitive" and may be resistive to traditional forms of therapy, including talk therapy.
We offer a complimentary phone consultation to help determine whether individual art therapy sessions would be the right fit for you or your child. Please download the fee schedule below for pricing.
